80s Offshore Pirate Radio Laser broadcast from the MV Communicator in international waters off the coast of Essex in the North Sea from January 1984 to April 1987 undergoing a number of name changes during this period. For the first 3 months of 1984 Radio Laser started its test transmissions as Laser 730 (on 729 KHz) it was then renamed Laser 558 in March 1984 and continued with this name until November 1985 when it was renamed Laser 'Hot Hits' and remained this until its demise in 1987, During it's heyday Laser 558 was said to have had an audience of 10+ million throughout Europe,
